Vic: Union condemns protesters action
Unionists have condemned green groups following the theft of documents from government
offices in the Otway Ranges.
Police say Natural Resources and Environment Department staff at Forrest were confronted
on Friday by intruders who forced their way in and then made off with documents.
One staff member was injured by a car fleeing the scene.
The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union has condemned the intrusion and
called for a halt to such actions in the future.
Union spokeswoman JANE CALVERT says the community must be concerned about allegations
that protesters violently smashed through the doors and windows of the office, damaged
property, jumped the counter and allegedly stole government documents from the office.
Police say a 22-year-old woman has been charged with recklessly causing injury while
two other women, aged 23 and 21, have been charged with aggravated burglary and theft.
